Little Fishies

I've quilted two more! Who knew it was so much fun?

This first quilt has little fish in the fabric. The colors in the fabric just happened to match the 5 spare blocks, so I put them together. Had I started from scratch I may have made sailboats instead. At least I gave the little fish some gentle waves of water

The framed flowers aka happy blocks were in the box of UFOs from Dorrie's estate. I don't know who finished the flimsy

This one was quilted using a panto of meandering loops and flowers. I use little flowery fabric so I enjoyed working on this. I was surprised how many prints I recognized.

I expect there will be more soon.

All the quilting is making gaps in the closet. Stopped the other day to put it back in order. There's one whole empty shelf! That feels good.

Two more quilted.

Monday I quilted one of dd's so she'd have it done for show and tell at quilt club. It went so quickly I forgot to get a picture of it pieced or quilted.

There was quite a pile to see from the 10 of us that were there. I brought 2 other quilts and managed to not bring any flimsies home. I'm still setting my sights on getting almost 30 done before 2026.

Wednesday I got another done. Lois made the oversized star over a year ago. I quilted it with meandering loops and hearts.

The next has been selected, batting cut and back picked out. We will see what happens tonight.

Fun Indeed

I've been having a good time quilting. Another done. Quilted it with my lazy flowers. That's the fun part.

The 9-patches were made by Dorinda and our club took them to finish a quilt and donate when she passed. I don't know who put the blocks together. I only did the quilting. I think I still have one or two of hers to quilt.

The puffy batting is now gone except for scraps. I'll collect any scraps from club when their roll is gone for one last frankenbatt.

My routine is to check that backs are ready for the next 6 or so. Then cut the batting for all 6. I have the end of another roll I'll use.  Dd has a brace on her hand so I don't think she will be trying to do pantographs for a few weeks.

A Quilty Day

I quilted  two more kid quilts in time to take them back to quilt club yesterday. That made 5. The four-patch just quilted with a simple basic meander.

The lilac checkerboard I quilted with big freehand flowers. Fast and fun.

All I brough home was a bag full of 2.5" strips. They were still mostly flat but all lengths so I thought I'd sort through for a few particular patterns and chop the rest into squares. That will be for another time dd is here.

She packed up her stuff and went home after quilt club. I was then able to straighten up my space again. Since it was relatively clean I pulled out batting scraps. I will want to use them up before I crack open a new bag.

Then I loaded another quilt and decided on how I'd quilt it. Fun fun.
